About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Phase 1 of an HBA/HBN Move project at Hanscom Air Force Base, addressing contractor inquiries about the demolition and removal of furniture from Building 1630.
The document clarifies key project specifications: there are 240 total workstations (80 on first floor, 160 on second floor), 20 private offices (5 first floor, 15 second floor), and 7 conference rooms (1 first floor, 6 second floor). Approximately 45 file cabinets will be discarded and 30 relocated within the building. The contractor cannot use elevators for cubicle wall panels but can use them for other furniture components. Work hours are Monday-Friday 0730-1630, with night work possible upon coordination but no weekends allowed. The project duration is 4 weeks/20 working days. The government will handle power de-energizing and whip removal, while contractors are responsible for disconnecting furniture whips. No wall/floor protection is required except for elevator padding, and contractors are not responsible for carpet replacement or wall repairs. All workstation contents will be removed by the government before work begins.
