About this file
This is an addendum to a Request for Proposal issued by Hastings High School in Michigan for an IP-based Valcom PA/Intercom system. Addendum #001, dated September 10, 2026, addresses prevailing wage requirements and contractor qualifications. The document does not specify project quantities, response dates, due dates, site visits, bidders' meetings, award dates, or contract terms, as those details are contained in the original RFP document.
The addendum establishes that the contractor must comply with Michigan prevailing wage laws under MCL 408.1101 et seq., paying all mechanics and subcontractors wages and fringe benefits at rates prevailing in Barry County, the locality where work will be performed. The contractor must maintain state project registration and ensure all subcontractors hold the same registration. Certified payroll records must be maintained for a minimum of three years in accordance with MCL 408.1122. Construction mechanics are identified as intended beneficiaries of the prevailing wage, fringe benefit, and nondiscrimination requirements, with the right to pursue legal action against the contractor for damages, injunctive relief, reinstatement, and attorney fees if prevailing wage obligations are not met. The contractor assumes full responsibility for prevailing wage compliance and indemnifies the school district from any related liability.
