About this file

This is an Addendum #001 to a Request for Proposal issued by Hastings High School for a Valcom paging system, dated September 10, 2026. The addendum addresses prevailing wage requirements for the project and does not specify product quantities, response dates, due dates, site visits, bidders' meetings, award dates, or contract terms.

The addendum establishes that all contractors and subcontractors must comply with Michigan prevailing wage requirements under MCL 408.1101 et seq., paying wages and fringe benefits at rates established for Barry County. Contractors must hold state project registration and cannot subcontract with entities lacking such registration. Contractors are required to maintain certified payroll records for a minimum of three years and are fully responsible for compliance with applicable prevailing wage laws. Construction mechanics are identified as intended beneficiaries with the right to pursue legal action against contractors for failure to pay prevailing wages, including claims for damages, injunctive relief, reinstatement, and attorney fees. The contractor must indemnify the school district against any prevailing wage violations.
