About this file

This is a Scope of Work document for the City of Greensboro, North Carolina, detailing hardwood courts floor refinishing and maintenance services at the Greensboro Sportsplex. The project encompasses screening and refinishing of approximately 36,000 square feet of hardwood flooring. Contractors are required to provide separate quotes for both water-based and oil-based finish options. The maintenance work is scheduled to occur from September 28, 2026, through October 2, 2026, with the timeline constrained by ongoing scheduled events at the facility.

The document establishes specific performance requirements for surface preparation, finishing application, and quality standards to ensure the courts meet operational specifications. Bidders must demonstrate experience with large-scale hardwood floor refinishing projects and adherence to project timelines. The separate pricing for water-based and oil-based finishes allows the City to evaluate cost-benefit analyses for each finish type, considering factors such as durability, environmental impact, drying time, and maintenance requirements relative to facility operations.
