About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC.PCD) seeking information on existing handheld gas analyzer solutions for shipboard applications. The RFI solicitation number is N6133126SNQ40, classified as a pre-solicitation opportunity under the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command.

NSWC.PCD requires highly portable, self-contained handheld gas analyzers to support confined space entry and post-fire atmospheric recovery operations aboard naval vessels. The equipment must weigh under 5 pounds, be deployable in under 3 minutes, and simultaneously detect and monitor oxygen (O2), lower explosive limit (LEL), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and volatile organic compounds (VOC). To reduce shipboard maintenance requirements, the ideal solution must support an extended calibration-free interval of at least 12 months and provide a simplified, rapid field-sensor replacement capability. This RFI is intended to gather market information on existing commercial handheld gas analysis products that meet these operational and maintenance specifications for immediate damage control needs.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

FOR

HANDHELD GAS ANALYZERS

1. Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC.PCD) requests information on existing items such as handheld gas analysis (gas analyzers) to support confined space entry and post-fire atmospheric recovery aboard shipboard fire. To meet immediate damage control needs, the command requires highly portable, self-contained units weighing under 5 lbs that can be deployed in under 3 minutes and simultaneously detects/monitor O2, LEL, CO, H2S, VOC. Furthermore, to minimize shipboard maintenance footprints, the ideal solution must support an extended calibration-free interval of at least 12 months and feature a simplified, rapid field-sensor replacement process.

2. Responses
