Questions for the Combative Skills Training RFP H9242922R0008

1. For any one training event, is the government requiring a maximum of two hours a day for each event? Will all training be conducted between Monday – Friday 0700 – 1600? How much notice will be provided for any training to be conducted on a weekend? Standard hours of operation will be 0800-1000 for daily combatives. Any adjustment to these standard hours will be coordinated one month in advance of the proposed training.

2. The PWS 3.2 identifies there will 520 hours for the primary instructor and 520 hours for the alternate instructor spanning a (12) month period. Will this be the annual maximum number of hours? Yes

3. Our experience in delivering a safe and effective combat skills training is using a ratio of (1) instructor to (5) students. Is this ratio acceptable? If not, are you suggesting that (1) primary instructor and (1) alternate will be used regardless of class size? We will not exceed a 1:10 instructor to student ratio. We will always use one primary and one secondary instructor and will cap training at 20 participants.

4. What is the anticipated class size per training session? Less than 20.

5. Will the combat skills training event be strictly close combat defensive tactics? Will firearms, airsoft, or blue guns be incorporated into any training scenarios? Standard daily instruction will be focused on unarmed close quarters combat. The use of blue guns, blue blades and/or UTMs will be coordinated one month prior.

6. How much notice will be provided if the training event needs to be moved to a contractor furnished location? One month.

7. If moved to the contractor furnished location, will the government provide any required equipment i.e. gloves, padded equipment? Our unit owned “loaner” personal equipment (gloves, head gear, etc.) will be used but our expectation is that a contractor furnished location is fully furnished by the contractor.

8. Will the government provide a CLIN for the hourly use of the off-site contractor facility? Our expectation is that the contractor handles everything regarding their facility. A CLIN will not be provided.
