About this file
This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) related to a Request for Quote (RFQ) for IT infrastructure requirements at a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) for the Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARFORSOC) at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
The key details include:
- Specifications for 45U floor mount cabinets, including depth, side panels, back door, and lockable doors
- Requirement for 12-strand single-mode armored fiber cables
- Need for a floor-mounted metal raceway, with vendor to provide width recommendation and avoid drilling through the raised floor
- Requirement for one sheet of plywood per wall behind the wall-mount cabinets
- Clarification that the 12-strand single-mode fiber from one location is only for the unclassified 6U cabinet, with the other two 6U cabinets to be connected via government-furnished patch cords.
The overall RFQ is for a Firm Fixed Price contract to acquire and install new IT infrastructure, including single-mode armored fiber cabling, network equipment racks with fiber patch panels, power distribution units, and installation of government-furnished and vendor-provided network equipment. The solicitation is set aside for small businesses.

Question Number:
RFI
Document Para./ Section Questions/Comments
(1)
SOW 1.1.1
Q: What depth is needed for the 45u floor mount cabinets? Is 36” sufficient?
Do they need side panels?
A back door?
Lockable doors?
Government Response: The cabinet should be fully enclosed with the back/front lockable. 36” deep is sufficient.
(2)
SOW 2.1.1 Q: According to 2.1.2, line 2.1.1 should read “12 strand Single Mode armored fiber cables”?
Government Response: Yes – armored cable.
(3)
SOW 3.1.1
Q: How wide does the floor mounted metal raceway need to be?
Will we have to drill through the raised floor to run the fiber up the table legs?
Government Response: We need the vendors to tell us the width required to support the quantity/size of the fiber required. Also, as discussed during the walk through, the vendor will NOT drill through the raised floor to exit the floor track system. Need the vendor to to exit the floor track at floor level. If this is an issue, please advise.
(4)
SOW 4.1 Q: Only one sheet of plywood is needed? Correct?
Government Response: Yes – 1 per wall (behind each of the wall mount cabinets.
(5) SOW 4.5 Q: Does this 12 strand single mode fiber need to be armored also?
Government Response: Not necessarily but needs to be rugged enough to withstand abuse.
(6)
SOW 4.5 Q: The 12 strand single mode fiber coming from 107 is feeding the unclass 6u cabinet only. What is feeding the other two 6u cabinets?
Government Response: The connections will be made by the Government via Patch Cords (GFE Solution)
