1. Is the existing floor finish to remain? If so, do we provide new wall base or is the paneling to be installed to the floor?
- The existing floor is carpet, and it will remain. The paneling should extend from just above the rubber floorboard to approximately waist height. The current wall base is drywall, so if the paneling can be affixed to that then no problem. There is a 5-6" rubber floor board at the base of the wall at present that can be removed if it needs to be, but ideally we would keep it. See slide (9) for a zoomed in view of this construction.
2. For the L-Shaped Bar - do we provide storage with cabinet doors for the back of the buffet?
- For the smaller side of the L-Shaped buffet, yes. For the longer side, please keep it open and minimize vertical support structure so that we have the capability to something like a cooler underneath.
3. Can you clarify the location of the Cargo Netting and Camouflage Netting? Is it to be installed over the wallcovering graphics located at the front wall (attached from the ceiling to the top of the paneling) in the
Main Dining Room?
- I have attached some separate pictures from the PowerPoint and drawn on them for reference. This should detail where the cargo and cammie netting goes. To be clear on the cargo netting; the cargo netting will go above the riveted steel paneling over the picture on the left side of the front wall. It's very isolated relative to the cammie netting, but the pictures should help.
4. Figure 4 - Right Wall - how far out does the 12" wide post extend from the wall?
- I have attached a picture in the PowerPoint (slide 11) of a foldable table propped up against this wall for reference, but the post should be approximately half the width of a telephone pole. Imagine a cylinder cut in half. I would suspect that at its widest point, it will be approximately 6" from the wall but it will be approximately 12' across.
5. Are we to provide and install wallcovering on the exposed walls in Rms. 141 & 142.
- No. The walls can remain as is on the inside.
6. Figure 7 - MGen Mundy Raider Flag - do we provide an acrylic cover with aluminum offsets? Is the flag supplied by MRR?
- No need to provide the cover. The Government (MRR) are supplying the flag.
7. Aside from the lighting provided in the display cabinets, is there any additional lighting to be provided.
- None. This gets into some facilities/ MILCON restrictions currently in place. We have not yet been in the MRR for one year and thus, the lighting inside of the Makin Room is among a few things we cannot tamper with.
8. Is there any painting required (doors, door frames, ceilings etc.) in the proposal.
- No/ Yes. No: Doors can remain as is, and the painting on the frame can as well. The ceiling does not need to be painted either. Yes: on the back wall where there is a gap between the MARPAT wallpaper and the herringbone pattern wall paper in the SOW, we would like deep red (garnet or crimson) painted to smoothen the transition between the two wallpapers.
9. Can you provide photos of the existing spaces?
- Please see attached the attached PowerPoint
