Contractor Questions for Solicitation H92242-12-T-0005
1.) Is the government going to provide the embroidery file?
Response 1: No.
2.) After the initial bulk of uniforms will the government still be providing the same materials for any orders that come between then and the end of the contract?
Response 2: Yes, the government will provide the uniforms, but the vendor should also have the capability to produce the name tapes, U.S. NAVY tapes, rank, warfare insignias and identification badges.
3.) Most of the time when we have done uniforms in the past the name tapes, US Navy tapes, rank and warfare designators have come completed and just need to be sewn on. Is this what I should expect? If not, which things are you wanting embroidered specifically?
Response 3: The vendor also needs to be able to produce the name tapes, U.S. NAVY tapes, rank, warfare insignias and identification badges.
4.) Can I see a uniform or a picture of a uniform that has the rate, rank, service and name tags, breast insignia, warfare pins, and identification badges already completed to the Navy's standards?
Response 4: See attached Insignia Placement PPT slides.
5.) Statement of work states that the contractor is responsible for rolls of NWU Type II and III digital camouflage pattern. Is there a specific place that I should get this material to ensure it matches correctly with uniform material? If so, where?
Response 5: Vanguard or Eagle Industries.
6.) Statement of work states that the contractor is responsible for velcro if required. Do you know if it is going to be required for this contract? If so, what is the Navy wanting velcroed?
Response 6: It may be required, which is why it’s written in the contract. Currently the Type II NWU uses Velcro on with the name tapes, U.S. NAVY tapes, warfare insignias, etc.
7.) What is the governments dollar amount for this contract?
Response 7: The purpose of the solicitation is to award a contract to the vendor quoting the lowest price, who meets the governments’ requirements.
