About this file

The file is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for a Naval Special Warfare Command solicitation for Cold/Hot Plunge Tubs (Solicitation Number: H9224025QE015). The Q&A reveals critical details about the procurement, including that the tubs are direct replacements for existing units purchased before 2012. The customer requires two separate units - one dedicated to cold temperatures and one to hot temperatures - that can each perform both hot and cold functions.

The solicitation is for the United States Special Operations Command's Human Performance (HPP) program, aimed at providing thermal modalities for rehabilitation and recovery of patients and training operators. The procurement involves two hot/cold plunge tubs and associated equipment. While specific pricing was not disclosed in the Q&A, the document addresses potential equipment substitutions, such as commercial chlorine maintenance kits for starter kits, indicating flexibility in some equipment specifications.

COLD / HOT PLUNGE TUB: Q&A

1. Is there any incumbent/recompete or this is a brand-new project? If yes, could you please provide us with their award number or even if the customer bought similar services in the past.

These tubs are direct replacements for the ones that we currently have. They were purchased prior to 2012.

2. I noticed one of the line items is for "24 Plunge tub starter kits" which is obtainable. Would chlorine maintenance kits be a suitable substitute as they are for commercial use vs the starter kits residential use?

The commercial chlorine maintenance would be fine if it covers all that is necessary.

3. Is there is any price in mind for these cold / hot tub plunges?

We are unable to provide this information.

4. Are you requesting two separate units — one dedicated for hot and one for cold — or two units that can each perform both hot and cold functions?

The customer is requesting two separate units. The unit can run hot or cold - they would use one dedicated as cold and one unit dedicated as hot.
