Question 1:
Solicitation H92239-12-R-0002 requests two (2) CASA C212 aircraft for 40 hours per month.
Is the 40 hours split between each aircraft (20 hours per aircraft) or is the requirement for 40 hours per aircraft per month?
Answer:
USASFC (A) requires 40 total flight hours per training iteration. The vendor is required to have AT LEAST two aircraft of the specified type in their “fleet” to ensure that training is not interrupted in the event the primary aircraft is unavailable for whatever reason.
Question 2:
Please explain in detail why the tunnel has to be 14ft. Why can’t we achieve the tunnel requirements in a 12ft tunnel?
Answer:
The need for a 14ft VWT oppose to a smaller size is to ensure that max diameter necessary for one or two MFF qualified student(s) with full combat equipped to include the required VWT instructor can comfortably move about the tunnel and still be able to instruct face to face with minimal confinement interruptions. The level of skill can vary greatly depending on the soldier. This can hinder the training benefit if stability becomes difficult in smaller spaces
