About this file
This document provides instructions for vehicle manufacturers to update technical specifications in the GSA AutoStandards portal for the 2022 Transit Bus Program. Manufacturers must enter data for minimum requirements and options by June 25, 2021 for seating configurations, powertrains, and electric vehicle specifications. Special instructions are provided for specific special item numbers regarding engines, doors, and electric vehicle charging standards. The GSA will finalize requirements and issue a request for proposals for heavy-duty transit buses under SINs 377A-377I. Refer to the GSA Vehicle Standards Web Site for side by side comparison of makes/models in each SIN at: (select 2022 and a search for SINs from the applicable categories) https://vehiclestd.fas.gsa.gov
GSA will reopen AutoStandards on Monday 21 June 2021 at 8:00AM EDT and close on
Friday 25 June 2021 at 3:00PM EDT
Please provide comprehensive and accurate data as possible, the opportunity to review and correct the data is now. Once the RFQ is posted, any changes to the representative makes /models/ data including the GSA's minimums will be controlled under a much more restrictive process, using procedures called offerors' exceptions and amendments to the RFQ. There are no guarantees that GSA will approve requested changes to data during the RFQ phase. Please provide diligence with the additional time allowed during this re-opening of AutoStandards (Round #2).
After AutoStandards (Round #2) closes, GSA Engineering will review all data and determine disposition of each make/model in each SIN. The data in the GSA web site will remain open for viewing only. GSA reserves the rights to remove (or move) makes/models, revise GSA minimums. GSA will not change the data that you enter for the representative makes/models. The requirements will be finalized prior to the posting of the RFQ.
General clarifications and changes:
Refer to the attached PDFs, revised drafts of GSA Purchase Descriptions. Track changes is enabled for your convenience.

GSA code FFPS (Forward Facing Passenger Seating) is available as an option and passenger seat belts shall be provided. Several customers such as the VA may require this configuration.
GSA codes FBOX (Fare Box) and SCRB (Stop Request Cables) are available as options. These options are available for eligible transit customers (fare collecting properties).
