Q: Does the GSA plan to foster their New Mentor/ Protégé Program in on this project?
A: We do not plan to actively participate in the new Mentor/ Protégé Program for this project.
Q: Has a Commissioning Agent been selected?
A: We have not selected a commissioning contractor.
Q: When will the Preliminary Drawings become available?
A: We will issue bridging documents during the Phase II Request for Proposals (est. November - December 2009).
Q: Does the building have any structural issues?
A: Yes, there have been some identified in recent studies and this information will be supplied in the bridging documents.
Q: Will there be any hardening of the building?
A: Yes, for blast resistance.
Q: Will the project address progressive collapse?
A: This is being investigated and may be added. A decision is expected before bridging documents are issued.
Q: Will there be any liability to the design/build team for information provided in the bridging documents?
A: Yes, it is the responsibility of the design build team to verify any information provided in the bridging documents.
Q: Is this going to be a GMP contract or firm-fixed price contract?
A: Firm-fixed price contract.
Q: Will the design builder be responsible for the data on the studies?
A: The data supplied will require verification.
Q. Is it intended to construct the new curtainwall on the outside first and then remove the interior window system afterwards?
A: Yes, that is the concept. Means and methods for the actual replacement are the responsibility of the design/builder.
Q Will the D/B team have to complete HVAC load calcs, if the bridging documents already include such information?
A: Yes, load calcs and sizing equipment is the D/B's responsibility.

A. The design architect reviewed the garage scope in detail.
