B. QUESTION:
Sheet M-001 Option C. New exterior and interior redundant CWS&R piping system will be provided -see mechanical, electrical plumbing & civil drawings. New base bid piping is not installed.
Option D. New base bid exterior condenser water piping gets added back into project.
See mechanical, electrical, plumbing and civil drawings.
Does this mean the interior CWS&R piping taken out in option C does not get added back in for option D?
Revise Options to Read:
Option C. New exterior and interior redundant CWS&R piping system will be provided -see mechanical, electrical plumbing & civil drawings. New base bid exterior piping and 3-way bypass valve are not installed.
Option D. New base bid exterior condenser water piping and 3- way bypass valve gets added back into project. See mechanical, electrical, plumbing and civil drawings.
These are general statements. Please refer to drawings for more detailed piping requirements. Drawings are already noted correctly to reflect this.
C. QUESTION:
Specification section 012100 Allowance’s 3.2 A,B,C.
Please clarify that if these cost are to be included in Base, Options B,C,D,G & H or just in base bid.
Section 000011 Includes a specification matrix which indicated that Allowances are included in Base, B, C, D, G, and H.
D. QUESTION:
Please clarify if the Prime Contractor is responsible for escort’s or will they be provided by owner if need be.
The owner will not be providing escorts. We expect that each major subcontractor working inside the facility will have at least one person cleared and badged to escort their crews while within the building. Large or multiple crews will require multiple escorts; assume one badged person for every two non-badged. We expect the GC will have most if not all of their onsite personnel cleared and badged in order to escort non-badged contractors, delivery drivers, safety personnel, visitors, etc. that may require access to the facility. As a general rule, if a contractor will be working inside the facility for more than two weeks, we prefer they have at least one badged person on staff.
E. QUESTION:
Please clarify if specification section 013600 applies to this project.
Yes, the section applies to this project
F. QUESTION:
Specification section 01310-7 B. Full time project coordinator.
Please clarify if this position is full time on site.
The project coordinator referenced in spec 013100 appears to be a GC project manager or superintendent. This person would be full time on-site.
G. QUESTION:
Specification section 014000 1.5-C-1.
Can the superintendent hold the position of the QC Manager on this project if they have the proper qualifications?
The paragraph states that the sole responsibility of the quality control manager shall be quality control. Therefore the QCM shall not be the Superintendent.
H. QUESTION:
Specification section 01500, 1.3A calls for a site plan showing construction personal parking areas. Specification 011400 B-11 states no parking will be allowed on site.
Please clarify.
Parking is available in the main employee parking lot. Parking will not be available at the actual construction site.
I. QUESTION:
Since this project is mainly mechanical and electrical, and pricing usually comes in at the last minute, can hard copies of pricing only be submitted at time of bid and followed up next day with the electronic reversion?
No. Complete technical and pricing proposals are due on May 11, 2016 at 2:00 EST.
