PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Structural Performance: Engineer, fabricate, and install press box to withstand the design loads specified in NFPA 102, "Standards for Assembly Seating, Tents, and Membrane Structures" Chapter 4, "Grandstands and Bleachers", without exceeding the allowable design working stresses of the materials involved, including anchors and connections. Apply each load to produce the maximum stress in each respective component of each bleacher unit.
SUBMITTALS
Product Data including details of construction relative to materials, dimensions of individual components, profiles, and finishes.
Shop Drawings showing fabrication and installation of bleachers including plans, elevations, sections, details of components, and attachments to other units of Work.
Include structural analysis data signed and sealed by the qualified professional engineer responsible for their preparation.
Samples for Initial Selection: Manufacturer's color charts consisting of actual units or sections of units showing the full range of colors, textures, and patterns available for each exposed material involving color selection.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
NFPA Standard: Comply with NFPA 102, "Standard for Assembly Seating, Tents, and Membrane Structures" Chapter 4, "Grandstands and Bleachers" except where more stringent requirements are indicated or imposed by authorities having jurisdiction.
Installer: An experienced Installer that has specialized in installing bleachers similar to those required for this Project and who is acceptable to, or certified by, manufacturer of bleachers.
Professional Engineer: A professional engineer who is legally authorized to practice in the jurisdiction where Project is located and who is experienced in providing engineering services of the kind indicated. Engineering services are defined as those performed for installations of bleachers that are similar to that indicated for this Project in material, design, and extent.
Welding Standards: Comply with applicable provisions of AWS D1.1 "Structural Welding Code--Steel" and AWS D1.3 "Structural Welding Code--Sheet Steel."
Engage certified welders that have satisfactory passed AWS qualification tests for welding processes involved and, if pertinent, have undergone recertification.
Engineering Responsibility: Engineer grandstands by qualified professional engineer legally authorized to practice in jurisdiction where Project is located.
PROJECT CONDITIONS
Field Measurements: Check actual dimensions of construction affecting grandstands by accurate field measurements before fabrication and show recorded measurements on Shop Drawings. Coordinate fabrication schedule with construction to avoid delaying the Work.
PRODUCTS
MANUFACTURERS
Manufacturer Qualifications: Manufacturers must prove that they have contracted and provided the design, manufacture, and installation of bleachers/grandstands as current business organization for a minimum of 5 years. Bidders must provide a list of 5 similar projects completed in the State of Michigan in the past 3 years.
Welders must be AWS certified. Manufacturer to be AISC Certified.
Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by one of the following:
