About this file
This is a Questions and Answers report related to exterior repairs to the Gittings Baldwin Springhouse at Gunpowder Falls State Park in Maryland (BPM055495). The project requires the contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and insurance necessary to renovate the interior and exterior of the Gittings-Baldwin Spring House located at 13717 Baldwin Mill Road, Baldwin, Maryland 21013. The solicitation document addresses contractor requirements and material specifications for the renovation work.
The Q&A clarifies two key project requirements: first, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources does not mandate that a general contractor self-perform 90 to 100 percent of the work, though contractors should follow guidelines to ensure proper job completion; second, material specifications for drip edges and flashing shall be copper, resolving a discrepancy in the original specifications that listed both aluminum and copper in different sections of the project documents.
