About this file
This document is an Addendum Number 1 for the Genesee Intermediate School District's (GISD) Erate Cybersecurity Pilot Request for Proposals (RFP), dated August 11, 2025. The RFP seeks cybersecurity services with a bid submission deadline of September 3, 2025 at 2:00 PM. The district anticipates a multi-vendor award, with vendors able to bid on any or all sections of the RFP. The project will be primarily handled remotely, with the district managing most setup and configuration, and vendors providing supplemental support.
The current environment includes 15 district sites connected by private fiber with 1gb links, 45 Windows servers, and 3,000 ChromeOS student devices (which are managed separately through Google G-Suite). The cybersecurity pilot will focus on patch management, network access control (NAC), and network segmentation. The district plans to segment network profiles including guests, students, staff, production resources, security cameras, HVAC, and IoT devices. Funding will be sourced through the Erate process, with the exact budget yet to be determined, but intending to utilize all available Erate funding. The district prefers onshore resources for the project and has specific requirements for network topology and device management.

Questions
1. What was the annual spend for the previous year on this Project?
a. This is a new project with no prior budget.
2. If this is a new Contract, What is the annual Budget for this?
a. Budget is yet to be determined. We have been awarded funding through the Erate process.
We will look to utilize all of the available erate funding.
3. Are you open to a hybrid delivery model with a mix of offshore and onshore resources?
a. We are open to that but prefer onshore resources.
4. Work will be onsite or remote?
a. We will be able to handle most of the setup/configuration. Anything needed from the vendor would be handled remotely.
5. Can you please give us an extension of 1-2 weeks to submit our proposal?
a. No, we cannot. Bids must be mailed and received prior to 9/3/2025 at 2:00 PM.
6. How will it be awarded as Single Vendor or Multi Vendor?
a. We expect that this would be a multi-vendor award. Vendors may bid on any or all sections of the RFP. We will evaluate each section of the bid separately.
7. The “current environment” specifies there are 3,000 chromeOS device for student use. However, it is not clear if there is intent for these devices to be covered by the “Patch Management” portion of this project or if they are managed separately. Are the student device in-scope for Patch Management?
a. Student devices are managed through Google G-Suite. They are not in-scope for patch management.
8. Do you have any servers which should be included in the Patch Management scope?
a. If server licensing is different, please note that on the bid form. We have 45 Windows Servers.
9. Can we get more detailed information about the current network topology? For instance, how many sites, subnets, and infrastructure devices stitch it all together?
a. We have approximately 15 sites across the district. Each site will have at least 4 subnets (production, guest wireless, staff wireless, and voice subnet). They share a security camera subnet across all sites. All sites are connected on private fiber that the district owns with 1gb links.
10. Do you know what profiles you want to support with the NAC toolset? My initial thought would be to support the following: Guest, Student, Staff. Sometimes organizations want to support segmenting off IoT devices, printers, and similar.
a. We would want to segment off guests, students, and personal staff devices from production resources. We would also want to segment security cameras, HVAC, and IoT devices.
