About this file

This is a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the Genesee Network for Education Telecommunications (GenNET), a consortium of 21 local Genesee County school districts and the Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD). The RFP solicits bids for maintenance and support of GenNET's existing firewall solution, which includes three Checkpoint 16600HS Maestro firewalls, two Checkpoint Orchestrator 140 devices, and a Checkpoint Management Server. Bids are due on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 12:30 P.M., with questions accepted until May 29, 2025. The contract seeks maintenance and support for one and three-year terms, with maintenance expiring on June 30, 2026 and June 30, 2029, respectively, and requires 24x7 premium support.

The current network infrastructure supports 20 Gbps internet bandwidth, 200 concurrent VPN users, and runs on Checkpoint R81.10 software across firewall, VPN, and intrusion prevention system (IPS) platforms. The virtual server is hosted in a VMware infrastructure. Bidders must provide comprehensive cost estimates for annual services, including all necessary coordination, supervision, labor, materials, and equipment that comply with relevant codes, ordinances, and accepted standards. The network itself consists of approximately 450 miles of private fiber optic infrastructure connecting over 200 buildings, providing data, voice, video, and internet services to member districts.
