About this file

This is a Question & Answers document from the Georgia State Financing & Investment Commission Construction Division regarding project GBI-088-DP for the Central Crime Lab Medical Examiner Building and Lab Expansion. The document addresses three questions from potential bidders about the project, which involves the design and construction of a laboratory and morgue facility in Central Georgia.

The document clarifies that notarized forms can be submitted as scanned PDFs without hard copies, and confirms that while the $40,000,000 SCL pertains to Phase I, the project is currently only funded for the design phase. The anticipated Phase I construction cost is $39,000,000, subject to funding availability. A feasibility study assessing space and growth needs for the Central Georgia Lab and Morgue has been completed and will be shared with shortlisted firms.

Question & Answers

GBI-088-DP

1. We would like to confirm for the notarized forms, we can scan and PDF the notarized form and do not need to follow up with a hard copy.

Correct. A hard copy is not required.

2. Can you please confirm if the $40,000,000 SCL is for Phase I of the project, not the subsequent phases.

As of now, the project is only funded for design through Phase I. We anticipate Phase I construction to cost $39,000,000, but this is dependent upon funding.

3. Was there a feasibility study done to assess the space and growth needs for the Central Georgia Lab and Morgue. If so, are you able to share it with us?

A study has been completed and will be shared with the shortlisted firms.
