Audio/Video Solution (WRCTC) – Washington National Guard Questions & Answers
Q1: The original solicitation/statement of objectives text indicates that a single display is required on each wall. During the site visit, it was mentioned that two (2) displays were needed per room wall surface. Please confirm whether one (1) or two (2) displays are required on each wall of the room.
A1: Two (2) displays per four (4) walls for a total of eight (8) displays.
Q2: Are wireless microphones a hard requirement?
A2: No; wireless microphones are preferred if cost effective, but not a hard requirement.
Q3: Can the existing projectors and speakers be used and “built around” if the capability remains?
A3: Yes.
Q4: Do you need additional podiums or furniture?
A4: No. The current podium and furniture will remain, and we do not need replacement or additional podiums or other furniture.
Q5: Is “surround sound” a hard requirement for movie quality spatial audio or is audio coverage providing clarity across the room sufficient.
A5: True movie-quality surround sound is not a requirement if mono or stereo audio covers the entire while providing the zoning capability outlined in the original solicitation. Two speakers at the front of each zone are not sufficient. The existing inset ceiling speakers may be utilized.
Q6: Does the audio system need to be surround, with center channel, surround speakers and subwoofer? Generally, these systems are 70v/100v distributed audio system and in some instances zoned for multiple zones to support local room voice reinforcement A6: No. True movie-quality surround sound is not a requirement if mono or stereo audio covers the entire while providing the zoning capability outlined in the original solicitation. Two speakers at the front of each zone are not sufficient. The existing inset ceiling speakers may be utilized.
Q7: What is the purpose of USB for each HDMI input?
A7: This is not a hard requirement, but would allow displaying video or images.
Q8: Since the HDMI inputs are computer connections, is the PC operating in dual monitor mode meaning having two HDMI inputs on each side of the room?
A8: One HDMI input for each side of the room is sufficient.
Q9: Where would the VGA and DVI connections be located?
A9: With the HDMI inputs. An adapter solution would be sufficient.
Q10: Currently there are three projection screens and the SOO states there should be large visual displays on all four walls. The fourth and remaining wall has closet storage, a door and a utility panel located on the wall. Does the government wish to install a display here at the rear of the room?
A10: Yes the display would need to be above the access to the ground-level closet, but would be able to cover the ceiling-level closet in perhaps a drop-down projector screen solution as exists with the existing displays (as an example).
Q11: As opposed to wireless microphones for the student desks, would the government be interested in ceiling microphones for room coverage? Wireless microphones could still be designed as part of the system.
A11: Yes.
Q12: Please confirm whether the classroom has a drop tile ceiling or an open ceiling configuration?
A12: Drop tile with about two feet of clearance from paneling to structure roof.
Q13: Is the classroom a single, undivided space, or is there a partition system in place for room division?
A13: It is currently a single undivided space. We will source a way to split the room as a separate effort once the zoning capability is in place.
Q14: Approximately how many student desks are currently in the space or expected in the final layout?
A14: 24 desks seating two students each for a total of 48 students.
Q15: Can you please confirm the approximate ceiling height of the room?
A15: Approximately 20 feet.
