About this file

This document is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for FTIR and Raman Spectrometers issued by Argonne National Laboratory, which is part of the Department of Energy Office of Science. The RFQ outlines detailed technical requirements for the FTIR and Raman Spectrometers, including specifications for the interferometer, laser, detector, optical bench, calibration, and connectivity. Responses to the RFQ must be submitted by 12:00pm CDT on July 12, 2024 and must include the ANL-70 Request for Quotation, ANL-70B Pre-Award Information, price justification, and country of origin certification. The spectrometers must be delivered before September 6th, 2024. The RFQ does not mention any set-asides, incumbents, or other salient information beyond the technical and response requirements.

Text version

FTIR Spectrometer

- The instrument should have a built-in touch screen interface with no need to connect additional screens that add to the overall footprint

- The instrument should come with a 3 year warranty

- The instrument should be modular to allow for the easy interchange of various measurement cells without needing re-calibration each time you swap measurement cells

- The Spectrometer should be incased Aluminum, with the interferometer, laser, and detector hermetically sealed inside the spectrometer. The spectrometer should be desiccated.

- The Spectrometer should have a DLaTGS detector or better

- The Spectrometer should have a signal-to-noise ratio of 55000:1 or better

- The Spectrometer should have a permanently aligned cube-corner interferometer to minimize light path deviation and footprint.

- The Spectrometer should have automatic calibration via an internal standard with a built in filter wheel

- The spectrometer should have a system that clearly indicates when a calibration or replacement part such as desiccant cartridge is needed.

- The spectrometer should have a way of minimizing energy consumption, without turning the instrument completely off.

- The spectrometer should have a solid-state SiC composite IR source

Raman Spectrometer:

- The Raman Spectrometer should have a built-in touch screen interface with no need to connect additional screens that add to the overall footprint

- The Raman Spectrometer should come with a 3 year warranty

- The Raman Spectrometer should have two separate laser wavelengths of 532 nm and 785 nm for maximum versatility.

- The Raman spectrometer should have an autofocus function to ensure consistent results and strongest possible signal, without a lengthy manual focus procedure

- The Raman Spectrometer should have an optical bench made primarily from solid aluminum

- The Raman Spectrometer should have a 5-axis alignment to ensure maximum signal output

- The Raman Spectrometer should have a class 1 laser for maximum user safety, allowing the spectrometer to be used outside of designated laser safety zones

- The Raman Spectrometer should have at least 50mW of laser power

- The Raman Spectrometer should have a spectral range of 200-3500 cm^-1 or better.

- The Raman Spectrometer should have automated calibration built into the software

- The Raman Spectrometer should have an integration time of 0.005 s to 600s or better.

- The Raman Spectrometer should have wireless connectivity available
