About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document addressing facility specifications and operational parameters for a cooling tower system maintenance requirement.
The facility operates three 400-ton electric chillers capable of simultaneous operation and one 400-ton steam absorption chiller that remains inactive. The cooling system runs seasonally from April through October/November. The circulation system comprises four pumps, each with a recirculation rate of 1,270 gallons per minute, for a combined total capacity of 5,080 gallons per minute. The chilled water is pre-treated with nitrates and utilizes two biocides for biological control. Makeup water data is available to the selected vendor. Physical cleaning is performed in-house during springtime, and the system has been operational for approximately four years. The facility is equipped with Logical Controls automation equipment onsite for system monitoring and control.
