PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT
Fortus Consumables, Automated scanner and handheld scanner
26 May 2026
Requiring Activity: DLA Product Test Center Division, located at Columbus, Ohio.
Contracting Activity: DLA Contracting Services located in Columbus, Ohio.
1. Introduction
This is a description of the DLA Product Test Center (PTC) Division requirements for the procurement of 3 Laser scanner systems, several new filaments for the labs Fortus 450 (3D printer), and several parts to maintain the PTCs Fortus 450s. It is the intent here to clearly define all required performance characteristics. In generating this statement, our objective is to end up with 2 Artec Micro II scanners, a HandySCAN EVO Elite Limited, replacement parts for maintenance on our Fortus 450 3D printer, and new filament. This will expand our Additive Manufacturing capabilities with highly accurate and automated scanning as well as new filament for specific fixtures that require fixturing to be a specific color. Because we want to maximize the ease of use some of the required features listed below will be specific. Our general objective is to minimize any impact to the DLA Product Test Center Division operations and our customers because of this procurement, especially with regards to test cycle time. These devices and materials will decrease the time needed to generate fixtures for our internal testing, to better help the PTC complete projects before the target deadline.
2. Background
These machines and filaments would increase Product Test Center’s (PTC’s) fixture generation, help improve measuring turnaround time, and provide a new way of measuring parts via detailed automated scanning. Some of the parts will help maintain the Fortus 450 3D printer.
Most importantly procurement of this machine will increase our current scanning capabilities as the PTC currently has 1 handheld scanner. The HandySCAN Elite EVO Limited is a more accurate version of the PTC’s current scanner and will increase scanning capability along with the 2 desktop automated scanners.
3. Scope
The installation and calibration of two (2) Artec Micro II with lifetime software, one (1) HandySCAN 3D EVO Elite Limited, two days of on-site training for up to five (5) laboratory associates on the Artec Micro II, two (2) new laptop to run the software of the Artec Micro II, the delivery of six (6) T10 & T12 SR-30 tips and six (6) T12 & T12 SR-30 tips for the Fortus 450, a 4 pack of brush and wipers for the Fortus 450, 24 90-ci canisters of ASA in different color options, and six (6) 90-ci cannisters of SR-30 support materials.
