About this file

This document is a Form D Pricing Template for transportation services issued by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), specifically for a bus service contract in Canton. The template provides a structured pricing worksheet for bidders to complete, with estimated bus hours and service requirements. The contract involves daily, weekly, monthly, and annual bus service routing, with estimated service hours of 80 hours per week (70 weekday hours and 10 weekend hours), totaling approximately 4,160 annual service hours.

The pricing template requires bidders to complete highlighted cells with their proposed bus hours and service hour rates, which must include all loaded costs such as insurance, maintenance, overhead, management fees, driver expenses, fuel, and other operational expenses. The document emphasizes that bidders should account for additional time needed beyond the MBTA's estimated hours, including driver rest rules, breaks, shift minimums, and garage pullout times. The pricing structure allows for detailed cost calculations across different time intervals (daily, weekly, monthly, and annually), with provisions for variations in monthly service requirements.

Based on the route, the MBTA has furnished the approximate number of bus hours need per day. We realize that there are circumstances that will create the contract to bill more hours than the MBTA is calling for (i.e. travel from garage to route, break times, shift minimum hours). The "Proposed Bus Hours Needed" allows for bidders to change the hours to account for such adjustments. The Service Hours Rate/Hour includes all loaded cost such as insurance, maintenance, overhead management fees.
