About this file
This document is a Form C RFP Pricing Form for Systemwide Tank Maintenance and Repairs issued by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), detailing a comprehensive labor and materials pricing request for tank-related maintenance services. The contract is structured for an initial three-year term with two additional option years, requesting pricing for various skilled labor categories including welders, pipefitters, electricians, painters, laborers, and equipment operators. The estimated annual labor hours range from 100 hours for welders to 1,000 hours for laborers, totaling approximately 2,950 estimated annual labor hours across multiple trades and specialties.
The pricing form allows vendors to quote firm fixed labor costs and material markup percentages, with the MBTA reserving the right to adjust quantities up to 125% of the original estimated amounts without changing unit pricing. Vendors are required to complete green-colored cells in the spreadsheet, with total costs calculated automatically. The bid submission mandates comprehensive pricing that includes ancillary charges such as prevailing wages, tooling, equipment, transportation, and customs duties. The MBTA explicitly states that bids with incomplete individual item pricing may be rejected, emphasizing the need for thorough and precise cost submissions by potential contractors.
