About this file
This document is a set of footnotes from the Connecticut Department of Labor's Wage and Workplace Standards Division, dated July 1, 2019, detailing prevailing wage and holiday benefit requirements for various construction trade occupations. The footnotes provide specific guidelines for holiday pay and eligibility across trades including Bricklayers, Elevator Constructors, Glaziers, Power Equipment Operators, Ironworkers, Laborers, Roofers, Sprinkler Fitters, and Truck Drivers, with each trade having unique conditions for holiday pay and eligibility.
The document outlines nuanced holiday pay provisions, such as requiring employees to work specific days before and after holidays, minimum employment periods, and varying holiday lists for different trades. For example, Elevator Constructors receive paid holidays for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and the Friday after Thanksgiving, with additional vacation pay credits based on years of service. Similarly, other trades have specific requirements like working a certain number of days before holiday eligibility or having been on the payroll for a set number of consecutive days prior to the holiday.
