About this file
This document contains a cover letter and related federal contract opportunity notice. The cover letter transmits analytical data from a sampling project at Flushing Bay and Creek in New York. It includes Excel files and PDF reports containing results for upland sediments, synthetic precipitation leachate procedure extracts, and a corrective action documentation from the contract laboratory. The federal contract opportunity is a solicitation by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District to perform maintenance dredging of Flushing Bay and Creek to a depth of 15 feet below mean lower low water plus two feet of overdepth removal. The dredging project involves removing approximately 150,000 cubic yards of material using a mechanical dredge with an enclosed bucket, transporting the material via scow and tugboat, and placing it at a suitable upland site meeting federal, state, and local permitting requirements. Bidders must be able to commence work within five days of notice to proceed and maintain a production rate of 2,250 cubic yards per day. The estimated cost of the project is between $10-25 million and work must be completed between September and November 2022.
