About this file
Summary of FKEC Inspection of Electric Distribution Poles Specifications
This Statement of Work (SOW) document establishes the scope and methodology for the Florida Keys Electric Cooperative (FKEC) to conduct comprehensive inspections of distribution poles throughout its electrical system over a seven-year period. The inspection program is designed to divide the FKEC system into substantially equal annual increments to ensure complete coverage while maintaining compliance with Florida Public Service Commission Rule 25-18.020, which mandates pole inspections at minimum eight-year intervals, and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards for strength and clearance requirements. The contractor will be responsible for performing visual inspections and documenting compliance with applicable safety standards and FKEC-specific criteria as detailed in the complete bid package.
The procurement establishes a seven-year contract term requiring the successful bidder to develop and execute an annual work plan that systematically covers all distribution poles within the FKEC service territory. Pricing, specific contract terms, set-asides, site visit requirements, and bid submission deadlines are contained within the complete bid package documentation. The project is funded through FKEC operations and is essential to maintaining regulatory compliance and system safety standards across the cooperative's distribution infrastructure in the Florida Keys region.
