About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to a fire extinguisher inspection solicitation for 15 buildings located at three geographically separate locations on Joint Base San Antonio Lackland in Texas. The solicitation seeks inspection services for various types and sizes of ABC and Halotron fire extinguishers, with most having been replaced by M-Jacks brand Sentry extinguishers. With one week of coordination notice, facility staff would escort inspection teams to extinguisher locations. Inspections would determine if any extinguishers need replacement or recharging, which would be considered separately. Inspections of all buildings could not be completed on the same day without multiple teams due to the separate locations.

Fire Extinguisher Inspection

KTR Questions & Answers

1. Could you provide the extinguisher types and sizes needing to be inspected?

The extinguisher types and sizes vary in each of the 15 buildings. Most have been replaced by M-Jacks using the “Sentry” brand.

Sizes include:

- 5# ABC

- 10# ABC

- 5# Halatron

- 10# Halatron

2. Could you provide the most recent, previous inspection reports for all units needing inspection/servicing?

Previous inspections are irrelevant. As noted in the SOW: this is inspection “ONLY”, if there are findings of needing replaced or recharged we will consider that purchase/service separately.

3. When performing the work, will we have access to all buildings at the same time?

With coordination (1 week lead time) it is possible to schedule all buildings in a single day.

However, due to there being 3 geographically separated locations, it is unlikely that without multiple teams, all buildings could be completed in one (1) day. – As asked “access to all buildings at the SAME TIME”. You would need 15 teams to perform this all at once. Due to the nature of our mission, I could not guarantee that each of the 15 facilities would be available at exactly the same time.

4. Will 67th Wing facility provide support in identifying where these extinguishers are located in the building?

Yes, with proper coordination (1 week lead time) we would be able to coordinate a facility staff member to escort the team to each of the fire extinguisher locations.

5. All other inquires have been address by amendment to the RFQ.
