About this file

The document is a 5-Year Fire Sprinkler Inspections, Testing, and Certification Checklist from the City of Santa Cruz, located at 1200 Pacific Avenue, Suite 290, Santa Cruz, CA 95060. The comprehensive checklist outlines a detailed inspection process for fire sprinkler systems, encompassing a wide range of technical assessments including gauge accuracy, control valve operations, alarm device checks, hydraulic calculation plate verification, visual inspections of pipes, fittings, and sprinkler heads, and multiple testing procedures for various system components.

The checklist requires thorough examinations in multiple locations, including above accessible ceilings, and specifies specific inspection points such as the Fire Department Connection, alarm valves, backflow devices, and sprinkler pipe obstructions. Key requirements include performing interior inspections on alarm and check valves, conducting a full flow back-flush on the Fire Department Connection, identifying fire sprinklers by year, and performing obstruction investigations at four critical locations: inside the alarm valve, at the riser, at the cross main, and at the end of one line. The document provides a signature and date line for the inspector to document the completion of these comprehensive fire system evaluations.
