Document Phase Document Description Page 10 https://finance.ky.gov/eProcurement/Pages/procurement-laws-regulations-and-policies.aspx https://finance.ky.gov/eProcurement/Pages/doing-business-with-the-commonwealth.aspx fourteen (14) pounds per gallon. Provide a tank for each unit that is 126” in length, 66” in width, and 55” in height with a two-inch (2") outlet and a sixteen-inch (16") fill opening.

Provide and install the appropriate number of baffle balls in each tank to control the diffusion (surge) of liquid movement during the transportation and use of each unit. Provide three (3) tie-down bows to secure the tank to the frame. Fabricate the tank with quick couplers (plumbing) for ease of dismounting.

Provide four (4) – 3/8 “ratchet binders w/ eyes and four (4) – four (4) foot lengths of 3/8” grade 70 transport chain. The ratchet binders are to be attached near each corner on the side rail in a safe and secure manner that will not interfere with the horizontal or vertical travel of the spray bar frame or apparatus. Grade 8 bolts, nuts and washers are suggested for attachment.

Fit the tank on each unit within a tank frame. Provide a frame for each unit that is constructed of a minimum of eight-inch (8") in depth channel iron (rated at 11.5 pounds per foot). Provide carbon steel construction that is hot dipped galvanized and that meets ASTM A-123 galvanizing specifications.

Construct the frame with forklift openings (to accommodate forks 8” wide by 2.75” in height) that can be used for mounting and dismounting the unit from the side or from the front or rear of the unit. The frame is to be designed so that the forklift forks CANNOT hit or damage the plastic tank or other parts of the sprayer (Forklift TUBES are required). Lifting hooks or devices shall be installed near each corner to allow lifting and moving of the complete spray unit (with the tank essentially empty). Extend the tank frame beyond the pump, the electric ball valve assembly, and the hose connections to each of these items to protect them from damage when being moved with a forklift. Construct the applicator bar frame in a manner that will allow the bar frame to telescope from the rear of the main frame to a minimum distance of ten feet (10'). Provide a mechanism (pins not set screws) to secure the applicator bar frame in a fixed position to the main frame after telescoping. Each horizontal telescoping bar shall have a foot device to keep the bar from bouncing (if the rear deck of a trailer dovetails or slopes). Construct the spray bar so as to allow for varying telescoping distances. There shall be a galvanized bar frame that goes completely across with the horizontal Schedule 80 PVC spray bar to support it.

Provide a spray-bar constructed of Schedule 80 PVC plastic and that will consist of ten (10) stainless steel straight-stream nozzles that will be placed directly behind the application unit for treating pavements. Install a plastic wire tie around each nozzle to hold it in place. Attach the applicator bar frame with the applicator spray bar to the applicator bar bracket.

Construct the bar with adjustable settings (secured by pins, NOT set screws), beginning at a point that is six inches (6") above the roadway surface (with the frame of the unit sitting on the bed of a dump truck having a bed height above the roadway surface of fifty-five inches (55").
