REQUEST FOR QUOTE: FIBER INSTALLATION

Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 30, 39M, the North Attleborough Electric Department (NAED) invites qualified persons to submit quotes to install an extension of our current fiber network (approximately 1,610’).

BACKGROUND

The North Attleborough Electric Department (NAED) operates and maintains an electric utility, substation, and Operations Center.

NAED currently maintains an existing fiber network that supplies internet for municipal buildings and allows NAED to acquire data and statuses from equipment on the system via SCADA.

A new SCADA capable recloser will be installed on Pole 4 Plain St. The fiber network must be extended to this device to connect it to the SCADA system.

The fiber currently runs to a splice closure at Pole 116 Kelley Blvd with 96F ADSS.

SCOPE

Extend 48F ADSS fiber (NAED supplied) 12 sections, approximately 1,472’ from Pole 116 Kelley Blvd. to Pole 3 Plain St.

- Install a 75’ coil at the existing splice at Pole 116 Kelley Blvd

- Install 150’ slack loops at;

o Pole 120 Kelley Blvd o Pole 123 Kelley Blvd o Pole 2 Plain St

- Install a 75’ coil and splice closure at Pole 3 Plain St

Extend a 6F ADSS drop (NAED supplied) one (1) section, approximately 138’ from Pole 3 Plain St to P4 Plain St.

At Pole 4 Plain St. the 6F fiber will need to be brought down the pole into a new cabinet with one (1) pair terminated (LC/UPC).

The fibers that are extended to the recloser will need to be identified at the NAED NOC.

- Splice six (6) fibers at Pole 116 Kelley Blvd

- Extend these six (6) fibers to Pole 4 Plain St

The responding firm will be expected to have the installation completed within 30 days of the issuance of the contract.

NAED will provide the 48F ADSS fiber and 6F ADSS drop, but all other materials including splice cases, mounting trunnions, and all associated work are the sole responsibility of the responding firm.

NAED will make staff available as necessary to assist the vendor.
