About this file

This is a fertilizer specification document issued by the State of Maine, Division of Purchases, for the procurement of agricultural fertilizer to be delivered to Maine Seed Potato Farm in Miami, Florida. The requirement is for 30 tons of 15-15-15 fertilizer with specific minimum guaranteed analysis including 15% total nitrogen, 15% available phosphorus, and 15% soluble potash, along with specified secondary plant nutrients including 4% total magnesium, 8.40% sulfur, and 1.40% total manganese. The fertilizer must be delivered on November 8, 2010, in 50-pound plastic bags to the farm address of 16275 SW 208 Terrace, Miami, FL 33187-4421. Delivery will occur via one or two flatbed truckloads, with the vendor dropping the trailer for 3-4 days to allow unloading and storage, followed by trailer pickup. The farm contact number is 305-235-2421, and vendors are required to call before delivery.

Due to the high humidity and moisture conditions in the Miami geographic area, the fertilizer must be highly granular with no powder, dust, or residue to ensure successful storage and moisture elimination. A sample may be required prior to delivery to confirm product suitability. Freight is FOB destination. Inquiries and procurement administration should be directed to Lita C. DeSanctis, Buyer II, at the State of Maine Division of Purchases, 111 Sewall Street, Augusta, Maine 04333-0009, telephone 207-624-7337, fax 207-287-6578, or email lita.c.desanctis@maine.gov.
