This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM) and the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). The purpose of this RFI is to obtain public input on the potential development of a Carbon Transport Research, Development & Demonstration (RD&D) Consortium. The consortium would aim to identify and coordinate initiatives for carbon transport RD&D efforts, facilitate communication among stakeholders, and compile information in an open access platform. This RFI is not a funding opportunity, and DOE is not accepting applications at this time. DOE may or may not issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) in the future based on the input received from this RFI. Responses to this RFI are due by October 09, 2024. Any potential future FOA would be issued under DOE's Fossil Energy Research and Development program.

Details
September 18, 2024. A Request for Information (RFI) for DE-FOA-0003330, entitled: Carbon Transport Research, Development & Demonstration Consortium is issued to obtain public input about a potential Carbon Transport Research, Development & Demonstration (RD&D) Consortium to be managed by Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM) in partnership with the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). This consortium is intended to identify and coordinate initiatives for carbon transport RD&D efforts (e.g., pipeline, rail, truck, ship, and barge transportation); facilitate communication among stakeholders; and compile and curate information in an open access platform. This RFI is not a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) or other type of funding opportunity; therefore, DOE is not accepting applications at this time. DOE may or may not elect to issue a FOA in the future based on or related to the content and responses to this RFI. There is no guarantee that a FOA will be issued as a result of this RFI. Responding to this RFI does not provide any advantage or disadvantage to potential members if DOE chooses to issue a FOA regarding the subject matter. Response due date is October 09, 2024. Instructions can be found for this RFI at http://www.fedconnect.net/fedconnect/?doc=DE-FOA-0003330&agency=DOE
