About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers attachment (Attachment B) for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Invitation to Bid (ITB-2551) for the Tallahassee Regional Operations Center Fence Installation project. The ITB seeks a qualified vendor to purchase and install an eight-foot tall fence that will completely enclose the TROC property, including two powered sliding vehicle gates, one manual swinging gate, and one pedestrian gate. The fence will be constructed partially of black decorative aluminum fencing and partially of black chain link fencing with an 85% black polyester privacy screen. The project requires the vendor to be responsible for surveying property lines, clearing vegetation, and installing the fence before September 1, 2025. Work hours are limited to 7am-8pm, with an estimated 200 gate cycles per day.

The bid requires detailed specifications for fence materials, including 8' tall aluminum decorative fencing and chain link fencing with commercial-grade hardware. Vendors must submit a comprehensive bid without modifications, with the award going to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The project includes specific requirements for electrical work, gate operators, and key card access, with FDLE handling the key card system independently. Bidders must be prepared to provide their own survey, handle potential tree trimming and vegetation removal, and comply with strict specifications outlined in the ITB attachments. The lay down area will be the last row of parking spots on the south side of the property, and bidders must submit their proposals through specific mailing or hand-delivery addresses provided in the document.
