About this file
This is a Procurement Specification document for DC power supplies required by the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory for the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) / Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) project. The specification is dated January 12, 2026, and outlines requirements for Power and Timing Card (PTC) DC power supplies for Far Detector components (Horizontal Drift and Vertical Drift configurations) to be installed at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, South Dakota.
The vendor must procure, fabricate, assemble, test, package, and deliver complete multi-channel DC power supply systems housed in 4U power bins with 1U cooling vents. Technical specifications include: voltage up to 60V, current up to 13.5A, 650W per channel, auto AC 94V-265V input voltage range, built-in 15A AC line fuse, C20 16AWG AC cord set, CE conformance with EN 50 081/82 standards and NRTL safety certification, and noise/ripple less than 3mVpp for 10m wire at 0-300MHz. The FD-HD configuration requires 27 chassis units with 6 independent floating return low voltage channels, while the FD-VD configuration requires 22 chassis units with 4 independent floating return low voltage channels. Both configurations feature front panel displays, networkable interfaces with SNMP capability, easy extraction mechanisms for maintenance, single channel interlock capability with fail-safe logic, remote sensing and regulation options, M6 rear panel power studs, cable strain relief bars, dual horizontal threaded hole grounding bars, and chassis mounting ears. Deliverables must include load and functionality test results. Post-award requirements include submission of finalized overall deliverable schedules and milestones. The subcontractor is responsible for quality control across all on-site and off-site work, including work by suppliers and sub-tier subcontractors. Delivery address is Dakota Warehouse, Rachel Pfaff, 1313 E. Saint Patrick St., Rapid City, SD 57701.

INTRODUCTION
Under contract to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Fermi Forward Discovery Group, LLC (FFDG), is leading the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) Project to enable a world-class program in neutrino physics. Specifically, the LBNF Project (https://lbnf-dune.fnal.gov) provides the infrastructure for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), which will consist of two large liquid argon-based neutrino detectors located nearly a mile underground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, SD. See Figure 1, LBNF/DUNE-US Schematic
The Far Detector & Cryogenics (FDC) subproject of LBNF/DUNE-US installs the cryostats, detectors, cryogenics and suppor ng infrastructure at the SURF laboratory.
The DUNE Far Detectors, Horizontal Drift (FD-HD) and Vertical Drift (FD-VD) utilize Power and Timing Cards (PTC) as part of the detector Warm Interface Electronics Crate (WIEC). Each PTC require a 48V/13A DC power supply.
STRUCTURE/COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
Each multi-channel DC power supply is housed in a 4U power bin which includes a 1U cooling vent. Each power bin contains a power box that is easily remova replacement. The power supply features channel-wise fail-safe logic interlock capability, remote sensing, and remote network control and monitoring features. Local control and monitoring viewing are required via a front panel display.
