1. There is no current incumbent. Shredding was previously conducted as needed.
2. Not applicable. There is no current contract.
3. Not applicable. There is no current contract.
4. There is no previous successful contract for this requirement. This exact requirement was previously attempted early in the fiscal year under “FDA-RFQ-ORA-2024-120488- Shredding Services” but was later canceled.
5. The statement “shredding done outside of this schedule must be approved by the Contract Officer” refers to additional shredding conducted outside of the requirement that could result in additional cost to FDA. To state another way, shredding services is needed to be conducted every two months (for a total of 6 pickups) throughout the fiscal year. Only the Contract Officer can approve a change in the frequency or quantity of services rendered.
The requirement allows for flexibility and rescheduling if necessary for the exact day shredding services will be conducted within each 2-month period.
6. The shredded material needs to be in the compliant size before being transported offsite for proper disposal. A 2-step destruction process can be considered acceptable as long as the onsite shredding process is conducted in compliance with the requirement.
7. Badging is not required for any of the drivers. Driver’s will be escorted by FDA personnel when entering an FDA location.
8. The floor for the bins is dependent on the office location. The Philadelphia District Office is located on the 9th floor while the remaining offices are located on the 3rd floor of their respective office addresses.
