QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS #3
SOLICITATION NUMBER # FDA-16-RFP-1160119
Studies to Enhance FDA Communications Addressing Medical Countermeasures
Question 01 We assume that the survey respondents be the same individuals as the focus group participants given that engaging different respondents for the survey will dramatically increase the cost and will inhibit the ability to gauge recall/retention of messages tested during the focus groups. Can FDA please confirm this is accurate?
Answer 01 There is NOT a requirement that the survey respondents be the same as those used in the focus groups. As noted in the RFP: “The online survey should build on the focus group findings and provide generalizable (bolding added) and practical findings.”
Question 02 Would FDA like the contractor to revise messaging/information after the focus groups are completed in order to test revised messaging with participants during the survey? Or will messaging only be revised after both focus groups and the survey have been completed?
Answer 02 The contractor should revise the messages/information based on the findings from both the focus group AND survey findings, i.e. just once, after both of the FG and survey are complete.
Question 03 Given that FDA is committed to reaching the general public, including racially diverse and underserved audiences, is FDA interested in conducting some of the focus groups in a language other than English, such as Spanish?
Answer 03 Not at this time.
