About this file

This is a Packaging Requirements document (AFMC Form 158) establishing packaging and shipping specifications for federal contract FD20202600725-00, Version 1, issued on 19 May 2026. The document applies to item 1680ND102202GXM and mandates compliance with MIL-STD 129 (Revision R) and MIL-STD 2073-1 (Revision E) standards.

The primary packaging requirement specifies that all wood packaging material (WPM)—including pallets, skids, boxes, crates, and dunnage—must be constructed from debarked, heat-treated wood heated to 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 minutes. Certification and marking by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) is mandatory, with reference to International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15). All items shall be packaged in accordance with ASTM D3951 (Specification Commercial Packaging). Individual shipments exceeding 150 pounds, 108 inches in length, or 130 inches in girth plus length must be packaged on skidded crates or palletized for forklift handling. Exterior containers require marking readable from 24 inches stating "ASTM D3951 - NOT FOR OUTSIDE STORAGE." Shipping containers must comply with MIL-STD-129 military marking standards and any additional marking requirements specified on the AFMC Form 158, including unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer names, and model numbers. The packaging specialist is Wendy L. Monson (406 SCMS/GULAA), reachable at 801-777-1457.
