The RFI is for market research and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to purchase. FCC Hazelton seeks information from qualified manufacturers or distributors regarding the availability and capabilities of wheelchairs that meet specific security and safety requirements. The requested quantity is 20 total units: 10 standard-sized and 10 bariatric-sized wheelchairs.

The required specifications emphasize tamper-proof design with no hollow cavities or tubing; all components must be solid synthetic-molded construction with a total weight not exceeding 35 pounds, and metal materials are strictly prohibited. The wheelchairs must feature a solid contoured seat (16"–18"), solid fabric seat back with non-removable or tamper-resistant attachment, ergonomically designed full-control handle molded into the chair side, flip-up adjustable front footrests with interlocking mechanism, adjustable two-position or non-removable armrests, folding capability to 13.5" width with wheels attached, adjustable seat-to-floor angle and height, and optional quick-release front rigging. Vendors must submit company information, detailed product descriptions with technical data sheets or brochures, manufacturing locations, production and delivery timelines, warranty information, rough order of magnitude pricing with volume options, and past performance records for correctional or institutional equipment supply. Responses must be submitted electronically to Andrea Burke, Contracting Officer, at Ax2Burke@bop.gov by Thursday, February 12, 2026. The agency will not reimburse response costs.
