About this file

This is a Faithful Performance Bond form for the City of Pasadena, California, required for contractors entering into municipal contracts with the city. The bond serves as a guarantee that the principal contractor will satisfactorily complete all work, labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and services as specified in the underlying contract. The form is designed to bind the principal and surety jointly and severally to the City of Pasadena for the full contract amount. The bond remains in effect throughout the contract term and continues to apply even if the contract is altered or extended, with notice of such modifications waived by the surety. Contract modifications, material changes, and time extensions do not release either the principal or surety from their obligations under the bond.

The bond form requires completion of specific fields including the principal's name, the bond amount in both words and figures, the contract description and scope of work, execution date, and authorized signatures from both the principal and surety. Approval authority is required from the City Clerk's office and the City Attorney's office. This faithful performance bond is a standard requirement for municipal contracts in Pasadena and ensures that the city has recourse against both the contractor and the surety if the contractor fails to perform its contractual obligations or abandons the work.
