Onsite Acceptance Test Multiplexers which meet Range RFP requirements will be tested on site (EAFB) for interoperability with Edwards Range’s existing multiplexer (Terawave TW400). Each vendor’s multiplexers will also be tested back to back, using two like multiplexers. These tests will verify all data types meet Range requirements.

Test #1

Connect two vendors multiplexers, via the optic port (Multimode and Single mode OC3), in a back to back configuration.

Telemetry testing will be applied across this configuration. Using a BER tester (Fireberd 6000 or equivalent), the test will transmit from one TM port on first unit to another Tm port on the second unit. The test will consist of testing the required low end bit rate, high end bit rate, and bit rates in between. To pass this test all bit rates tested should produce no bit errors. Each bit rate will be tested until average bit rate is 10 to E-8. Latency meets range real time requirements for all bit rates.

T1 testing will be performed from a T1 port on first unit to a T1 port on the second unit. A T1 tester (T-berd 2400 or equivalent) will test for bit errors, pattern slips, sync loss for all formats, line codes, unstructured, and structured T1’s (testing will be bi-directional). To pass this T1 test no bit errors, pattern slips, or sync loss should occur. Latency meets range real time requirements for all bit rates.

Ethernet testing shall be completed in two parts. Part one will use the PING command to verify connectivity between two IP based hosts connected two each multiplexor. Minimum 120 PINGS will be done without PING loss. Part two will verify Ethernet/IP throughput using the TTCP application to simulate a TCP data transfer of 1GB. Test will verify no data loss and minimum 60% of configured throughput. All tests will be done in both directions.

Test #2 (Interoperability) Connect vendors multiplexer, via the optical OC3 port, to Terawave TW400 multiplexer’s optic port (Single Mode only).

Telemetry testing will be applied across this configuration. Using a BER tester (Fireberd 6000 or equivalent), the test will transmit from one TM port on first unit to another Tm port on the second unit. This test will also be performed with vendors unit in receive mode and TW400 in transmit mode. The test will consist of testing the required low end bit rate, high end bit rate, and bit rates in between. To pass this test all bit rates should produce no bit errors at all bit rates. Each bit rate will be tested until average bit rate is 10 to E-8. Latency meets range real time requirements for all bit rates.

T1 testing will be performed from a T1 port on vendors unit to a T1 port on the TW400 unit.
