Q: For Requirement 2.2, is this requirement referring to the need to dress the cables in a proper manner in accordance with base regulations or are there additional requirements to install network and telephone (POTS) connectivity to the system and in what quantities? The solution does not have a connection for a POTS Line. Additionally, while the solution does have connectivity with a GFE supplied workstations, there is no specific need for an IP line.
A: Lines will need to be concealed with raceways or moldings as appropriate where they would be visible leading to the ceiling or other ports such as power outlets.
In regards to connectivity to the solution, this must be configured to communicate properly during utilization with the workstation allowing all abilities of the solution to be accessed when needed.
Q: For Requirement 2.3, this requirement seems to suggest that there is a much large system in play which requires configuration. If the solution is not stand alone and will be integrated with a large GFE provided AV system, please provide details on the size and scope of the solutions? Please provide the solution's as-built equipment list with make and model number of the equipment.
A: Item 2.3 states that the contractor shall install and configure ALL included components of the solution, as well as test to ensure full functionality of the solution before the task is considered complete. This includes ensuring the projector is properly aligned with the screen, the speakers function with the projector relaying the sound from the workstation through the projector to the speakers. If the components are not included in the solution, support is to be provided to integrate existing or expected systems in to the solution.
Q: For Requirement 2.3, in the solution currently installed in the room, are they utilizing a control system with a touch panel? If so, does the Government have the control system source code and touch panel files which could be used for modification reducing the effort required to complete the upgrade?
A: No touch panels are present.
Q: For requirement 2.4, the solution requests integration with a conferencing system. With the proposed equipment list provided, the sb885i5-SMB does not have any conference abilities natively. Are these conference abilities native in the existing system solution?
A: The conference room currently contains a VTC system. The information on the SMART Board (or comparable) may need to be transferred using this system. The contractor is to provide the ability to display this information to the remote system displays.
