Sources Sought Synopsis – Request for Information Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information (C4I) and Munitions Test Improvement Contract III (CIMTIC III)
Response Date: 01 April 2009 NAICS Code: 334511 This is a Request for Information for the CIMTIC III Follow-On Source Selection. We are requesting Contractors’ input on the dollar amount that will be obligated at time of award to meet the minimum quantity requirement IAW FAR 16.504(a)(2). This information will be used to define our Acquisition Strategy.
The CIMTIC contract is unique in that it is not a typical requirements’ driven acquisition. It is a joint effort between the contractor and the government to bring work to the 46th Test Wing with the contractor marketing their expertise to other services and agencies. There is potential for substantial rewards for the contractor, both monetary and by way of additional business but the contractor must do more marketing to solicit work than in most acquisitions. Historically, the lowest dollar amount awarded via Delivery Order was roughly $25,000. and the highest dollar amount awarded was one Delivery Order for $6,000,000. The average Delivery Order for the current contract is $175,000.
We would appreciate your input on an appropriate minimum requirement amount, given the current economy and the historical data above. A dollar amount is preferred but additional explanation is acceptable. Please submit this information as early as possible but no later than 1 April 2009.
