MEMORANDUM FOR WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
SUBJECT: FA9101-20-Q-0040, Control & Isolation Valves, Questions and Answers
1. I have a technical concern with one of the valves and hoping someone could clarify: Valve(s) HPA-FCV9-RO and HPA-FCV10-RO appear to calculate extremely high velocities resulting in choked flow conditions for valve sizing conditions 2 and 3?
· While we agree with his analysis, the valves are still ok. The valves’ location within the system is less sensitive to the performance and the safety of the system as a whole. The max case condition that is of concern is only occurring at very short intervals. Any damage to the valve and AEDC/customer hardware would be at a minimum.
