Q2) Regarding conduit access to Bldg #498: If KAFB has existing underground conduit and/or pathway from the “Carlisle Gate”, will KAFB allow placement of new cable within said conduit?
A2) There is not a path currently available but we will work with the vendor to accommodate their requirements.
Q3) What is the physical street address of Building #498?
A3) The address for Bldg. 498 is 3650 Sherman Ave. SW. See revised Appendix 10, para. 10.11, attached to Amendment 0004.
Q4) Where is the location of the vault/manhole for entrance into both buildings?
A4) The entry to Bldg. 498 is on the north side and Bldg. 20449 is on the east side.
Q5) Is there existing conduit from the entrance vaults to the equipment rooms that can be used by the supplier?
A5) The vaults are directly below the equipment rooms; there are existing penetrations that can be used for fiber installation.
Q6) Does the supplier provide and install the cabling from the entrance vault all the way to the equipment rack or to some intermediate point?
A6) The vendor is required to extend the fiber to the rack.
Q7) Are there any special requirements for the installation of the inside plant that we need to be aware of?
A7) Duty hours are 07:30-1600 Monday-Friday and access must be coordinated at least 48 hours in advance with the base Communication Services Officer and the base technical representative.
