About this file

This is a minimum specifications attachment for a CO2 Laser Cutter & Engraver being procured by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Research Laboratory under solicitation FA875126Q0016, a small business set-aside Request for Quotation (RFQ).

The equipment must meet or exceed specified performance standards, including a cutting area capable of accommodating a full 4' x 8' sheet of material with 0.001-inch positioning accuracy and 2 inches of Z-axis reciprocating movement on a knife blade or sawtooth platform. The laser system must include a tube capable of achieving the material cutting capabilities, with gross power input of 1500 Watts at 20 Amps and voltage compatibility of 110V-220V AC. The system requires a servo-stepper or equivalent motor type with processing speeds up to 1,000 mm/second, dual laser heads for organic and metal cutting with auto-height contour following capability, and must be capable of cutting 1-inch thick wood, 16-gauge carbon/mild steel, and 14-gauge stainless steel. Software compatibility must include Lightburn or equivalent, with Windows, Mac OS, or Linux support via USB, LAN/Ethernet, or Wi-Fi connectivity and 64GB-128GB job memory capacity. Required ancillary items include exhaust tubing, inline fan, multiple lenses, a 110V chiller water system, steel pump, air compressor, a 2-year warranty, 1-day onsite training and installation, and a lifetime customer service guarantee. Vendors must provide a technical datasheet for the laser tube and listings of other compatible materials. Delivery is FOB Destination to AFRL in Rome, New York, with an anticipated delivery of 5-7 weeks after receipt of order, and only factory-new equipment is acceptable.
