INFORMATION REQUESTED:

In regards to addendum #2 attachment of specification section 16749, I have the following question: Is it intended that this system is to be installed only where there are no suitable attachment points for cablehooks or is it intended that this system be used throughout all buildings? (With exception to areas where cables are installed in conduit)

ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEER RESPONSE BY: Gary Siver
Date:
8/9/2011

Cable hooks are an acceptable means of attachment/support. Section 16749 can be used as an alternate support system in lieu of cable hooks and should be used where a means of support is required and cable hooks cannot meet the installation requirements.

RIOC concurs with Towne’s response.
