About this file
This document is a Question and Answer Sheet for the B-52 CROCS (Resilient Operational Capabilities Suite) Sources Sought notice, solicitation number FA8628-25-R-1025. The document addresses technical questions about an Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) project for the B-52 aircraft, focusing on connectivity and system integration requirements. Key details include potential integration with the CONECT system, development of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) with Level 2 maintenance, and connectivity to the Department of the Air Force Battlefield Management Network (DAF BMN).
The market research is specifically limited to U.S. DoD Contractors, with small businesses encouraged to participate. The Air Force is seeking vendors capable of providing system integration solutions, with an emphasis on alternative implementations that align with architectural requirements and compliance standards. Respondents are requested to disclose membership in the SOSSEC Consortium, Other Transaction Agreement awards, SBIR contracts, GSA experience, and other unique contract awards. The acquisition strategy is not yet determined, and this request is not a commitment to contract award, but rather a market research initiative to assess potential vendor capabilities.

B-52 CROCS Sources Sought Question and Answer Sheet Notice ID: FA8628-25-R-1025
The purpose of this document is to address submitted questions during the Request for Information period for C3BM Resilient Operational Capabilities Suite (CROCS) Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD).
Question 1: Can the government provide any details on the government furnished open architecture box, specifically interface control documents and SWAP-C details, to support the development of a production-ready CROCS system design package?
The Government is in the process of completing a source selection and SRD, which will be released and provided to the vendor as soon as blessed via appropriate contracting and distribution process.
Question 2: This CROCS program is in response to urgent warfighting needs. Will the government consider other alternatives to a government furnished open architecture box which would enable aircraft BLOS connectivity to the DAF BMN, so that schedule and integration risks are reduced to meet the urgent warfighting need?
Yes. Alternate implementations will be considered pending they align to the architectural requirements and compliance standards of both IDSE and IDE. Additionally, solutions with proprietary requirements may not be considered.
Question 3: Can the government provide the modernization, maintenance and sustainment plans or capability integration phasing for the government furnished open architecture box, so that our integration planning can consider any capability phasing and the full life cycle needs?
LRUs should be Line Replaceable Units with Level 2 maintenance.
Question 4: The RFI states that some integration software will also need to be developed to make the components work with the aircraft. Can the government provide additional details on which aircraft systems will require this integration? Does this software effort include the development and integration of a Platform Interface Module? Can the government provide details on the system which the aircrew will use to interact with CROCS?
Integration: For the B-52, the system will eventually need to interact with the CONECT system. The intent is to develop or provide a means of providing interaction with the CONECT system without full 'integration".
Software: It depends. There are solution implementations that may allow interaction with the CONECT system without full 'integration".
System: For the B-52, the system will eventually need to interact with the CONECT system. Details of the CONECT system and the interface requirements are still being developed but can be provided.
Question 5: The primary objective of the program is the complete integration and verification / validation of the CROCS kit. Do the verification / validation efforts of this integration include connectivity and functionality testing with the DAF BMN, to include Phalanx Smith and Phalanx Watch?
There will need to be some level of val/ver required for testing for all systems that may connect to the DBN. How the Government determines to meet those requirements will be worked with C3BM/ABMS.
