Question set #1

Q. Is this a firm delivery date?

A. If the delivery date in the solicitation is unobtainable please provide rational for why and a more realistic delivery date.

Q. Are there penalties or damages if the delivery date is not met A. There may be consideration required if delivery dates are missed.

Q. In good faith, the production schedule can be affected by untimely progress payments or other unforeseen circumstances. Is there a provision to request relief in such cases?

A. In the event of reasonable circumstances beyond the contractor’s control the Government will evaluate and decide if an extension will be granted.

Q. Can we specify an estimated production and delivery lead time?

A. A delivery schedule needs to be provided with firm delivery dates

Q. Who or Whom will be signing the Quotation and Specification Contract being submitted as the proposal?

A. The company/person who is submitting the proposal.

Q. The Manufacturer requires acceptance of their proposal/quotation by the Purchaser, USAF Packaging?

A. After evaluation of proposal/quotation a contract signed by the offeror and the Contracting Office at AFLCMC/PZIEB will be provided to the offeror.

Q. Timeliness of progress payments will impact production and delivery lead times. Will this be accommodated and not result in negative consequences?

A. The Government will make payments per the contractual terms promptly.

Q. Will this contract allow for these Payments?

A. The Government is willing to receive proposals that include Commercial progress payments in accordance with the FAR.

Q. How can we bill actual transportation and shipping costs; the machine is an oversized specialty freight load?

A. This will be a firm-fixed-priced contract and freight costs need to be added into proposal at the time of submission.

Q. How can we bill the actual costs that may or may not differ from the estimate?

A. This will be a Firm-fixed-priced contract and all costs need to be added into proposal at the time of submission.
